Acoustic Panels

Acoustic properties are an important part of many projects, such as concert halls, auditoriums, lecture halls and gymnasiums. There is no question that acoustic panels visually compliment any environment, yet it is the acoustic properties of the panels that make the greatest contribution to its liveability. Absorbing incidental noise, acoustic panels preserve the serenity and tranquillity of any busy environment.

Revolution Wood Panels provide numerous acoustic options for wall and ceiling linings by way of perforations and slots. Perforations and slots are available in a number of patterns, providing a finish that is both functional and decorative.

We recommend Austral Premium AC (Interior) for acoustic purposes, using Hoop Pine veneer with an interior glueline for a lighter and brighter finish.

Fire retardant, clear finishing, edge sealing and the application of sound absorbing backing material options are also available.

Important – Before using oil based coatings & stains, ensure that they are compatible with Hoop Pine plywood. Although we do recommend water based finishes, stains from Livos Australia have been tested and approved by Austral Plywoods as being suitable for use with Hoop Pine plywood. Other oil based coatings are not recommended on plywood where the finished job will be subject to close scrutiny. Other oil based coatings tend to penetrate the face veneer of the plywood and strongly highlight the natural figure in the timber, darkening it considerably. In many applications this may not be desirable. Other oil based stains also tend to swell the grain of the surface veneer, again potentially disfiguring the plywood.
